Handel was one of the eighteenth century’s greatest composers, an unsurpassed genius in expressing emotions – what it feels to be human – through music. His instrumental chamber music distills some of his best work in an intimate small-scaled setting, to be enjoyed by all.

This weekend course will be spent exploring playing this repertoire (plus music by Handel’s contemporaries) in a historically informed style, on baroque or modern instruments, with appropriate ornamentation, phrasing, bowings, and exploring the crucial role of the bass line and continuo.
